What's in a story… His and Hers — now available for free on Kindle Unlimited

his and hers by Ashley LudwigOne of the questions I get asked most frequently is, “How long does it take you to write a book?”

Great question. Depends on the book. Depends on the story length, as I love short stories, and with young kids, wrote my share. Now that the girls are older, I’m writing long form again and loving it.

When I’m dream building, I love to use Pinterest to gather ideas on location, characters, costume, and emotion. It is an author’s wealth–just waiting for the taking. I have casting sheets at my fingertips.Heroes to choose from. Heroines to pair them with. It’s a bit intoxicating, really, for the likes of me.  See this one for Mammoth Secrets, coming February, 2015 from Pelican Book Group.

Now, with my agent, Terry Burns, on board, I’m also reviewing my back list for books that deserve a second chance. Buried in my drawer, some of them need to stay that way, but the ideas that woke me in the night, had me in the loft with my notepad and pen while everyone lay sleeping, those ideas won’t stay buried.

Three deserve new attention:

  • Zuni Gold PinspirationA romantic suspense starring a young, vibrant archaeologist who on a quest to solve a long-dead, southwestern mystery.
  • A historical Gothic romantic suspense, starring an orphaned heiress and her quest for her inheritance–and the Templar treasure that could destroy all she loves.
  • A romantic suspense, starring a journalist who suffers a traumatic brain injury during a San Diego Fire; but rekindling her memory opens a deadly door.

For fun, I’ve re-released the title, His and Hers, is a sweet, romantic favorite of mine. It pretends to be nothing else, just a little romance set in a sleepy, southern California town. Rights recently reverted from this 2010 release, it now is available for FREE on Kindle Unlimited…or for download to your Kindle through Amazon.

The groves…

His and Hers is the title of a fictional 1960’s movie, starring a character of my creation, Nona Darling–who went through what much of the 60’s actresses did.

His and Hers Inspiration

If Grace Kelly had survived, what would she be like now? If Marilyn Monroe were still here, would she have found true love, would he have healed her heart from the trauma of super stardom at the hands of the movie studios? How would their children, grandchildren, sit at their feet and devour their wisdom? What would their view on love be?

These questions are answered in  His and Hers,  with the story of Misty and Nona Darling, and the men who love them…

If you enjoy  His and Hers,  leave a review on Amazon.com!

One lucky reviewer will in a copy of MAMMOTH SECRETS, coming February, 2015.

  1. I am really impressed with your writing skills as well as with the layout on your weblog.
Is this a paid theme or did you modify it yourself?

    blog like this one today.

    1. My daughter (3rd grade) and I just read the Mississippi book toethegr. It was wonderful for both of us. She was diagnosed with dyslexia about 1 week ago and learning more about it helped me to realize why things like reading, spelling, handwriting and math facts and word problems were always so difficult for me. It was a very empowering book. Thank you. We will check out the others too.

    1. tonight when we finished, Hey mom you know that could be me. You know redaing is tough for me, and I have a hard time. Your book choked me up as a mom because I see his struggle, but his response left me thinking he will rise above this and he will do great. He also left me blubbering!
